A proper one-off, this one pairs two stones. A serpentine palm stone, all moss and lichen markings like something pulled from a riverbed, set in a solid silver open bezel handmade to fit its exact shape, hung on a hematite bead chain.

No two stones look the same, that's the whole point. If you want perfectly symmetrical and identical to the photo, this isn't your piece. If you want something that looks like it has a story, it's exactly your piece.

The stone: Serpentine forms when seawater reacts with rock from deep in the Earth's mantle, usually at the boundary where one tectonic plate is grinding under another. That slow reaction over millions of years gives it those mottled, mossy patterns, basically a snapshot of ancient ocean floor chemistry. This particular variety is known in the trade as hematitic serpentine, named for the iron oxide flecking that runs through the stone alongside the green.

The chain: A separate strand of hematite beads, silver-plated, threaded on wire, with silver findings. Hematite takes a plate beautifully because it's naturally metallic in lustre even before anything's added, so the silver sits on it cleanly rather than looking stuck on.

If you're into crystal lore, serpentine and hematite both turn up a lot in protection and grounding folklore. Make of that what you will, we just think it looks brilliant.
