Hand Hammered Oxidised Sterling Silver Bracelet
A one-of-a-kind bracelet made by hand from solid 925 sterling silver. Each individual link begins as a flat piece of 1mm silver sheet, approximately 1 x 2cm, before being individually cut, shaped and hammered to build up its irregular, tactile surface.
The finished silver has been oxidised by hand using liver of sulphur, pushing the surface into smoky charcoal and black tones. The raised areas are then polished back so flashes of bright silver break through the darker patina, exaggerating every hammer mark and giving the bracelet an aged, almost archaeological character.
The individual silver panels are articulated with sterling silver jump rings, allowing the bracelet to move naturally around the wrist, and finished with a silver lobster clasp and adjustable extender chain.
Because the texture and patina are created individually by hand, no two surfaces are exactly alike. The oxidised finish will also continue to evolve naturally with wear, with the high points gradually becoming brighter while the deeper texture retains more of its darkness.
