Friends, Foliage & Finding Our Inner Van Gogh – 10th October 2025

Updated: Oct 27

There’s something truly special about spending an autumn evening with friends, laughter, creativity… and a few too many chocolate chip cookies! Our little Halloween/Autumn wreath-making workshop on 10th October 2025 turned out to be exactly that, a cosy mix of craft, chaos, and creativity, all happening right in my dining room. (Check out https://www.hausofbeka.com/workshops for details of future events OR book your own!)

Armed with bubbles/gin (and the occasional cuppa for those being sensible), we set out to create our own autumn-inspired wreaths. Each one turned out completely different, from fiery reds and burnt oranges to moody dried foliage and even a touch of Halloween spookiness with skulls, bats, and tiny pumpkins.

It was lovely to see everyone’s personality shine through their designs. Some jumped straight in, others needed a little patience and encouragement, but honestly, that’s part of the magic. Creativity rarely arrives neatly packaged. I reminded everyone that Van Gogh painted dozens of sunflowers before he was happy with them. A little perseverance, a few adjustments, and a lot of laughter later… everyone had made something beautiful.

By the end of the evening, the table was a happy mess of trimmings, wire, and leftover biscuits, and the wreaths were ready to brighten up our doors for the season. It wasn’t just about crafting,

it was about connection, slowing down, and finding joy in making something with our hands.

Here’s to autumn evenings, patient creativity, and celebrating every perfectly imperfect creation 🍁✨
