A playful homage to vintage tattoo flash and traditional love iconography, my Valentine’s linoprint card series explores the symbolism of the heart as both a romantic emblem and a vessel of resilience. Each design is hand-carved and printed using lino printing techniques, embracing the bold, graphic lines and organic imperfections inherent in the medium.

At the centre of each print is a striking heart—pierced by arrows, wrapped in banners, radiating light. In one iteration, the banner boldly spells “VALENTINE”; in another, it remains blank, a quiet invitation to the viewer’s own interpretation. The surrounding bursts of energy suggest an almost comic-book intensity: a heart in action, mid-beat, mid-break, mid-longing.

Printed predominantly in vibrant red and stark black ink, these cards evoke the immediacy and drama of classic love stories—equal parts romance, irony, and sincerity. The tactile quality of hand-pressed ink on textured paper adds depth and intimacy, turning each card into a small, collectible work of art.
