Hand Hammered Oxidised Silver Bracelet

A hand-fabricated bracelet in solid 925 sterling silver, built from a sequence of individually cut and shaped panels. Each piece, approximately 1 x 2cm and 1mm thick, was hammered by hand to create a deeply irregular surface before being oxidised with liver of sulphur. Polishing the raised areas back through the dark patina reveals flashes of bright silver and emphasises every indentation left by the hammer. The result has an intentionally weathered, almost archaeological quality, with a finish that will continue to develop as the bracelet is worn. The panels are joined with sterling silver rings to create an articulated form that moves around the wrist, then finished with a silver lobster clasp and adjustable extender chain. Rather than trying to make every component mechanically identical, the piece keeps the evidence of the making process visible: hammer marks, tonal variation and subtle differences from link to link are part of the design.
