Fine Silver Clay Pendants

A collection of small sculptural pendants formed by hand in 999 fine silver clay. Each piece begins as workable silver clay, allowing texture, line and relief to be impressed or carved directly into the surface. The pieces are dried, refined and fired; during firing the organic binder burns away, leaving fine silver. After firing they are polished and, where appropriate, recessed details are darkened to bring the texture and drawing forward. The collection explores leaves, hearts, playful symbols and skull forms, balancing the softness of clay-working with the permanence of metal.
